[1] It is increased as necessary – usually in January. The amount quoted is for a newly upgraded home (standards may vary). 

Eligible persons can apply for Housing Benefit – you must tell the Warden before you apply.

[2] less 25% single person discount (apply). Eligible persons can get Council Tax Benefit.

[3] You have your own electricity meters so you pay for the electricity that you use. 

[4] Your home may be upgraded and will be decorated before you occupy.

[5] You are expected to keep your home to a good standard inside and renew your decoration and carpeting in a tasteful manner (if you have hardship - speak to us in advance).

[6] Everything provided by the charity must be respected and used carefully.  If you have an accident we will need to charge you to repair or replace it.  We suggest you obtain insurance.

[7] Your terms of occupation require you to have a telephone landline connection.

What the charity does not charge for:-

The Resident Warden – report problems with your home and utilities and site amenities.

Advice about housing and council tax benefits.

Some social and welfare activities at Firth Homes (others ‘pay as you use’).

Service charges- eg, gardening; visitors car park; window cleaning etc.

Normal use of our Community Hall.

Normal use of our Laundry, (washing machines are not permitted in dwellings and no drying facilities are permitted outside).

Your Emergency Pendant Alert and the annual monitoring charge connecting you.

Your fixed kitchen appliances. i.e oven, hob, extractor fan and fridge freezer.

Your TV Licence (for those under 75years) & TV aerial connection (FreeView).

Your Water bill.

Maintaining the structure of your home and insuring the building.

Maintaining the basic utility services into your home.

Repairing or renewing the fixtures and fittings installed in your home by the charity.
